Roberta's in Brooklyn

Photos by Flickr

Though Roberta's façade is not exactly an appealing or welcoming one, the inside of this shack looking place is completely the opposite. I honestly found Roberta's by mistake. Wednesday night on our way to sketching naked models, we decided to grab a bite before the 3 hour session at 3rdward in Brooklyn. I googled Restaurants nearby, and Roberta's came up as the closest one.

The simple decor and natural woods made me feel relaxed and at home as soon as I walked in. The fresh aroma coming from the wood-burning oven was enough to allure us into sitting down and staying longer than expected. We each ordered a pie, and some beers in jelly jars (YES JELLY JARS!) and we were not disappointed! I walked around the place, and went outside to the patio and noticed that in another small brick space, a live radio show was taking place, Heritage Radio Network. I also noticed they grow their own fresh herbs, cool!

Though in my opinion, the clientele and staff members tried a little too hard to pull off the artistic "I'm cool and don't care" look, this place is for shizzz a place to check out!
